Ormeau Pimpma Royals: A Club Where Everyone Shines

Committee

Ormeau Pimpama Royals Netball Club is an Incorporate Club and operates with a Management Committee structure and operational committee underneath. All Royal members are welcome to attend our regular committee meetings and raise any items for consideration within the meeting agenda.

Our committee is a group of volunteers (usually parents, coaches or players) who have a strong desire to help continually grow and improve our club.

We are always looking for committee members or volunteers. Please contact ormeaunetballroyals@gmail.com and find out how you can be involved.

Coach

We welcome new and experienced coaches to our club. We understand that coaching is a crucial role within the club – without coaches, we cannot support teams. We greatly appreciate the voluntary time and effort our coaches put into training and mentoring our netball players!

Ormeau Pimpama Royals Netball Club provides support and training to assist our coaches in becoming the best mentors they can be. The role of a coach also comes with responsibilities including abiding by the Club’s Code of Conduct, Coaching Handbook and ensuring legal checks and requirements are undertaken to enable the person to work with children.

To be an Ormeau Pimpama Royals Netball Club coach you will need to obtain the following before the commencement of the season;

  • Foundation Coach Accreditation Course as a minimum. The course is completed online, and the Course cost is reimbursed by the club once completed.

The course looks at:

  1. The role of the coach
  2. Planning
  3. Teaching netball skills
  4. The coach in action

Umpire

We are passionate about the 5 C’s of good umpiring:

  1. CONFIDENCE
  2. CONCENTRATION
  3. CONSISTENCY
  4. COMMUNICATION
  5. COMMON SENSE

Ormeau Pimpama Royals Netball Club encourages our players to learn all aspects of the game, one way to do this is by becoming an umpire. Umpiring is a great way for Junior and Senior players to further develop themselves as a player and earn extra pocket money.

Netball Queensland provides online courses for those wishing to become involved with umpiring netball. The umpire’s primary role is to keep the game safe, fun and fair for everyone. Umpiring provides an opportunity for personal growth for senior players who are looking to develop their leadership skills and their knowledge of netball.

At Ormeau Pimpama Royals Netball Club, junior umpires are mentored by more senior umpires and provided with the support needed to gain their confidence and develop their skills.

If you, or your child, is interested in finding out more information, please contact us.
